ELDEN ORVILLE McDANIEL
1922 - 2014


Elden Orville McDaniel, age 91, of Harrah, Oklahoma was born on December 22, 1922, in Prague, Oklahoma.
He was the son of James and Wahneta Rattan McDaniel.
He left this life on Thursday, November 20, 2014, in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Elden proudly served in the U. S. Army during World War II.
He married Thelma Lee VanZant on December 29, 1947, in Prague, Oklahoma.
Elden retired from Tinker AFB where he was engine mechanic.
He was a member of the Harrah First Baptist Church.
Elden enjoyed gardening, fishing, RVing, camping and spending time at the lake house. He was an avid woodworker and made many yard decorations especially for OU and OSU.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lonnie McDaniel and three sisters, Cleta Hand, Marie Stewart and Cyble Harper.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma McDaniel of Harrah, Oklahoma; son and daughter-in-law, E. K. and Michele McDaniel of Silver Springs, Nevada; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Rick Pogue of Bella Vista, Arkansas; brother, Clyde McDaniel of Meeker, Oklahoma; two sisters, Delores Kent of Pampa, Texas; Neoma Comstock of Meeker, Oklahoma; seven grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 25, 2014, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at Gable Cemetery, Meeker, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
