EDMON McCLEARY
1863 - 1948


Funeral services for Edmon McCleary, 85, oldest Sparks resident, who died at his home there last Wednesday, were held in the Sparks Baptist church Thursday afternoon, conducted by Rev. A. W. James, assisted by Rev. A. D. Patrick.
Burial was in the family plot in Oak Park cemetery, Chandler.
He had been seriously ill for several months.
McCleary was born March 1,1863, at Fayetteville, Arkansas.
He was married to Susie Ann Miller in 1880. To them four children were born.
In 1898, several years after the death of his wife, he was married to Viola Graham. They were parents of seven children.
She and three of these children preceded him in death.
The family came to Lincoln County in the early days and had made their in the Sparks and Chandler areas since.
Survivors are four sons, Samuel of Seymour, Missouri; Mack of Waynesville, Missouri; Otis of Quincy, Kansas; and Chester of Sparks; four daughters, Mrs. Crissie Anderson of Elmont, California; Mrs. Sarah Graham of Waynesville, Missouri; Mrs. Ella Davis and Mrs. Kathryn Graham, both of Sparks and twenty five grandchildren.
