LLOYD ARTHUR MATHES
1917 - 2009


Lloyd Arthur Mathes, age 92, passed away on Thursday, August 6, 2009 at the Stroud Health Care Nursing Home.
The son of David Luther Mathes and Stella Johnson Mathes, Lloyd was born on May 24, 1917 in Roy, Missouri. He was reared and educated in Stroud.
He married Minnie Caudill on Saturday, September 4, 1937 in Stroud. The couple made their home there and continued living in the area for the rest of their lives while he farmed and worked for Lincoln County.
Lloyd was a member of the First Church of God and in his spare time enjoyed gardening, fishing and most of all working on his farm.
Survivors include one daughter, Phyllis Bryson and husband James of Stroud, one son-in-law, Eddie Northcott, five grandsons, Jimmy Bryson and wife Merry of Stillwater, Gary Bryson and wife Elizabeth of Stroud, Robert Northcott of Durant, Chris Northcott and wife Leslie of Sherman, Texas and Eric Northcott of Durant, eight great grandchildren, Katelyn Bryson, Rebekah Bryson, Joseph Bryson, Kyndel Gooch, Keith Northcott, Logan Northcott, Shelby Northcott and Rhythm Northcott, as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, Lloyd was preceded in death by his wife, Minnie, one daughter, Lynda Northcott five brothers and three sisters.
Funeral services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2009 at the Stroud Cemetery with Pastor Joe Molencupp officiating.
