ROBERTO GARCIA MARTINEZ
1922 - 1999


Prague resident Roberto Garcia Martinez died Thursday in Prague. He was 77.
Martinez was born April 29, 1922, in Kingsville, Texas to Alberto and Paulina Martinez.
He married Paula Molina in 1950.
He was a farmer and member of the Assembly of God Church. He was also a former resident of Hollis.
Survivors include six sons and daughters-in-law, Thomas and Rosa Martinez, Seminole, Texas; John and Mary Martinez, Lovington, New Mexico; Robert Jr. and Maryann Martinez, Prague; George and Diane Martinez, Lakeview, Texas; Henry and Gloria Martinez, Childress, Texas; and Margarito "Curly" and Tilly Maldonado, Prague; daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Helen and J. R. Gonzalez, Paducha, Texas; Gloria and Lupe Aguino, Lakeview, Texas; and Betty Jo and Fernando Fuentes, Garden City, Texas; daughter, Moldesta Martinez, Amarillo, Texas; brother, Simon Martinez, Tehoka, Texas; thirty eight grandchildren, thirty two great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife in 1968; his parents; one brother, Victor Garcia; sister, Betsy Martinez and daughter, Rosa Nieto.
Graveside services will be 3:00 p.m. today at the Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Prague, with J. R. Gonzalez officiating.
