ALLISON WATSON BOWMAN MAHAFFEY
1964 - 2012


Allison Watson Bowman Mahaffey was born April 5, 1964, in Chandler, the second of four children to Clayton and Mary Watson.
She succumbed after a brave two-year battle with cancer. Allison passed away at her family home in Bethel Acres.
Allison grew up as a member of Bethel United Methodist Church and later became a member of First United Methodist Church of Edmond.
She attended Bethel Public Schools, graduating in 1982. She earned a BA in Journalism and public relations from UCO and her MBA from OCU.
Her career has included employment with Lowe Runkle Company, Cox Cable, Primestar, Multimedia and her current position with Pioneer Telephone in Kingfisher.
Allison used her creative talents as a party planner extraordinaire. She loved to travel, read mystery thrillers, scrapbooking, bargain hunting, auctions, antique games and toys. Allison loved to spend time with her sons, family, and spoiling her nephews.
She was preceeded in death by grandparents, P.C. and Mildred Watson and Charles and Lillian Woody; uncles, Powel, Wayne Watson Leroy and Pat Watson, Robert and Beulah Knesek and cousin, Eddie Mills.
Survivors left to cherish her memory are sons, Rob and Jeff Bowman; their father, Doug and wife, Margot Bowman; parents, Clayton and Mary Watson; husband, Byron Mahaffey and daughter, Heather; brothers, Bryan and Susan Watson, Scott and Lisa Watson; and sister, Jennifer and Mike Key; uncle, Don and Pat Watson; three aunts, Mary Howell, Joy and Mike Southard, Martha and Leon Mills; nephews, Andrew, John, Matt, Tyler and Brett Watson, Adam and Jackson Key, Brian and Tom Mangus; a host of cousins and her Sigma Kappa sisters, her church family and a myriad of friends.
Viewing will be until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Walker Funeral Service. On Thursday, viewing will be from 8:00 a.m. until service time at the church.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 12, at the First United Methodist Church, 305 East Hurd in Edmond.
Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Bert Potts, Pastor Kay Nix and Rev. David Rose.
Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. at Rossville Cemetery, northwest of Meeker.
Memorials may take the form of contributions to the Cancer Society, Loving Care Hospice, 1940 North Harrison, Shawnee Oklahoma 74804; or the building fund of the First United Methodist Church, 305 East Hurd, Edmond, Oklahoma 73034.
Walker Funeral Service, 201 East 45th, Shawnee, is in charge of arrangements.
