OPAL V. LEMONS
1927 - 2007


Opal went to rest January 9, 2007 following a long illness in Topeka, Kansas.
She was born to Eli and Lester Wright Vassar on September 9, 1927 in Tryon, Oklahoma.
Opal received her education at Free Silver and Ripley Schools, graduating in 1945. Following graduation she went to work for Southwestern Bell and remained there until her retirement in 1982.
She was united in marriage to Clarence Lemons in March of 1951. Four children were born to this union, Vickie, Jeff, Robin and Michael.
Opal was preceded in death by her parents; husband Clarence; two sons, Jeff and Michael; three brothers, and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters, Vicki Cooper Zampich and her husband Walter; and Robin Wingfield and her husband Larry; six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, E.W. Vassar and his wife Elba; one sister, Lou McCoy and her husband George; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 12, 2007 in the Chapel of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma with Pastor Harold Jones officiating.
Burial will follow in the Tryon Cemetery, Tryon, Oklahoma.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
