BETTY J. LEGGETT
1932 - 2006

Betty passed over on November 9, 2006 after a long bout with metastatic cancer. She was surrounded by her family at home when she passed. Her husband, Kenneth Leggett, cared for her during this long illness, unceasingly and lovingly, for which we are all eternally grateful.
Betty was born May 26, 1932 to V. E. Plunk and Millie Smithwick Plunk in Oklahoma City where she received her early education.
She was united in marriage to Marion E. Carter in August 1960 until his death.
Betty was a wonderful Mom and friend as well as a loving wife and companion. She was a really festive lady always decorating her home for every holiday and enjoying life with family and friends.
She will be terribly missed but we know she is safe, happy and whole once again and watching over us from the other side.
Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husband Marion; and her only son Ira Steven Boen.
In addition to her husband Kenneth, she is survived by daughters, Laura J. Carter Wilson of Summerville, South Carolina; and Pamela Boen Bertram of Maumelle, Arkansas; their husbands, Mike and Tom; and grandchildren Heather Radomski and Rebekah Daily of Summerville; and Christopher Bertram of Brooklyn, New York.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church, Cushing, Oklahoma with Rev. Ted Uhlig officiating.
Burial will follow in the Stroud Cemetery.
Condolences and an online guest book are available at www.palmarlerfh.com.
Services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
