MINNIE JANE LEAKE
1901 - 1993


Minnie Jane Kalka Leake, 92, Chandler, died Thursday, September 23 at Pioneer Nursing Home.
Services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church, Chandler, with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating.
Burial will be at New Zion Cemetery under the direction of Curry - Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler.
Mrs. Leake was born May 17, 1901, in Chandler, the daughter of Albert Otto Kalka and Mabel Hestella Rowley Kalka.
She married Eldon Leake on September 23, 1922.
She was a housewife and a member of the First Baptist Church, Chandler.
Her husband; two brothers, Joe Kalka and Irvin Kalka; one sister, Ruth Clarkson; and one son, William Eldon Leake, Jr. previously died.
Surviving are her children, Glen Leake, Wichita, Kansas; Cloyce Vernon Leake, Chandler; Mabel Helen Brown, Borger, Texas; and Betty Charlene Crall, Wellston; two sisters, Opal Temple and Viola Ingram, both of Chandler; ten grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church of Chandler.



Services were held for Minnie Jane Leake, 92, Chandler, Saturday, September 25, at First Baptist Church, Chandler, with the Rev. Rick Blackwell officiating.

She died Thursday, September 23, 1993 at Pioneer Nursing Home.
Mrs. Leake was born May 17, 1901, in Chandler, the daughter of Albert Otto Kalka and Mabel Hestella Rowley Kalka.
She married William Eldon Leake on September 23, 1922. They established their home near both sets of parents where she remained throughout her life.
Mrs. Leake was a housewife, she enjoyed gardening and writing stories of her childhood and was an active member of First Baptist Church, Chandler, until her health failed.
She was preceded in death by her husband; two brothers, Joe Kalka and Irvin Kalka; one sister, Ruth Clarkson and one son, William Eldon Leake Jr.
Surviving are her children, Glen and Gerry Leake, Wichita, Kansas; Vernon and Von Leake, Chandler; Helen and Roscoe Brown, Borger, Texas; and Betty and Dale Crall, Wellston; two sisters, Opal Temple and Viola Ingram, both of Chandler; ten grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Chandler.



The family of Minnie Kalka Leake thanks you for your prayers, cards, flowers, and other expressions of love and sympathy in the loss of our mother and grandmother. We express our appreciation to the Pioneer Nursing Home staff for the love and care they gave her. A special thanks to Bro. Rick Blackwell, Bro. Kirk Holloway and Jone Waldman for the beautiful memorial service and also to the ladies of the First Baptist Church who provided the meal.
