BUDDY F. LARGENT
1940 - 2016


Buddy F. Largent was born on October 1, 1940, in Paden, and departed this life on Sunday, October 16, 2016, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 76.
Buddy, the son of Charlie Melvin and Martha “Minta” Lee Largent, was a resident of Prague. After losing his mother at a very young age, Buddy was raised by his uncle and aunt, Frank and Florence O’Brien.
He married Alice Heinzig on October 20, 1963. Buddy was a long time member of the Prague Golf Club with countless rounds and stories to tell, his favorite coming on April 21, 2015 when he made a hole in one. He enjoyed playing pool and was known to be a pool shark.
He spent many years as a barber in Prague.
Buddy took great joy in spending time with his family and friends.
His parents and sister, Katie Huckleberry, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Alice Largent of the home, daughter and son-in-law, Annette and Kevin Franklin of Montgomery, Texas, grandchildren, Courtney Franklin of Fayetteville, Arkansas and Brecken Franklin of Montgomery, Texas, sister, Edith Stone and many other family and friends.
The Largent family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 19, 2016 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Prague.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Rev. Kevin Wehrli officiating.
Interment will follow at Prague Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
