EDWIN CHRIS KRIEG
1921 - 2013


Edwin Chris Krieg was born June 10, 1921 in Wellston, Oklahoma. He departed this life on May 3, 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma at the age of 91.
Edwin was the second of five children born to Henry and Elizabeth Geisler Krieg.
One sister Alvena Stein and three brothers Elmer, Everett and Richard {who died in infancy} preceded him in death.
Edwin loved nothing more than spending time in his garden and sharing the fruits of his labors with friends and relatives. He will also be remembered for his generous nature which was exhibited in his care for his wife LaWanda in the years she suffered with Alzheimer’s disease.
He was a faithful member of the Wellston Church of Christ serving as elder and treasurer for a number of years.
Edwin married LaWanda Collier Krieg on October 22, 1944 in Wellston.
LaWanda preceded him in death in 2004 after 59 years of marriage. Edwin and LaWanda have three children, Sharon Krieg Cunningham and husband John of Safford, Arizona; Larry Krieg and wife Becky of Tulsa, Oklahoma; and Leon Krieg and wife Kathy of Columbia, Missouri. One child was lost in infancy.
Edwin has five grandsons, Justin, Scott and Tony Cunningham and Dylan and Brett Krieg. He has two granddaughters, Natalie and Chelsie Krieg. He has eight great grandchildren. In addition, he leaves a number of nieces and nephews along with other relatives and friends who will greatly miss him.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, May 8, 2013 at the Wellston Church of Christ with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.
Edwin's family would like to invite his friends to join them for a reception between 3:00 - 6:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions can be made in Edwin's honor to the following: Hope Harbor Children's Home, PO Box 1047, Claremore, Oklahoma 74018.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
