OLEN HARVEY KIRCHMEIER
1925 - 2001


Former Meeker resident Olen Harvey Kirchmeier died Monday at his home in Richardson, Texas. He was 76.
Kirchmeier was born January 26, 1925, in Lincoln County to Matthew H. and Carrie Ann Dwight Kirchmeier.
He attended Union Grade School and graduated from White Rock School.
He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Oklahoma A&M in 1950.
He was a veteran of the U. S. Air Force, serving in World War II. He was a commissioned lieutenant and served as a navigator.
Olen married Verna Lee Nicely on June 16, 1951, in Meeker.
He retired from Celanese Corporation in 1983 after 30 years of service.
His parents and brother, Robert Kirchmeier, preceded him in death.
Surviving are his wife, Verna Lee Kirchmeier of Richardson, Texas; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Jim and Marsha Kirchmeier of Plano, Texas; and Mark Kirchmeier of Dallas; a daughter and son-in-law, Sue and Tommy Worsham of Leander, Texas; a brother and sister-in-law, Leo and Janice Kirchmeier of Visalia, California; a sister and brother-in-law, Eva and Charles Galloway of Meeker; five grandchildren, Brook Kirchmeier, Jaime Kirchmeier, Jared Kirchmeier, Samantha Worsham and Casey Worsham; as well as many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be 1:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. today, 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday and from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. Friday at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Friday at the New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, with the Rev. Joseph Sinko officiating.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service, Prague.
