WANDA LEA KIMER
1930 - 2012

Wanda Lea Quattlebaum Kimer, 82, of Tecumseh, went to her eternal home on Friday, March 9, 2012, in Tecumseh.
Wanda was born March 2, 1930, to Coleman and Leah Brasiel Quattlebaum, west of Meeker.
She was raised in the Jacktown and Shawnee areas.
Wanda was not a stranger to hard work. At the age of thirteen her mother passed away and she had to quit school to help her father raise her brother and sisters. She picked cotton in Minco, worked at Harp’s Egg Factory, Swanson Cookie Plant and the Sylvania Plant.
Wanda married A. D. Taylor in 1949 and raised a family in Shawnee. She later married Allan Kimer in 1975 and they moved to a farm in the Macomb area.
Besides raising her family, Wanda worked as a sheet metalist at Tinker Air Force Base until her retirement. After she retired, she worked with her Aunt Pearl in Click Antiques. Wanda had a strong and determined will to live as a 25-year breast cancer survivor, only to lose her battle against Alzheimer’s disease. Wanda loved being with her family and loved researching her family history. She always looked forward to attending and participating in family reunions. She loved having big family gatherings for any special occasion, especially Christmas.
Wanda was preceded in death by her parents; son, Freddie Kimer; brother, Buddy Quattlebaum; sister, Lola F. Taylor; and granddaughter, Michelle Andrea Taylor.
She is survived by her husband, Allan Kimer, of the home; three daughters and son-in-law, Dianna L. Taylor and June Taylor, of Norman; and Janet and Perry Turner, of Sand Springs; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Phil and Faith Taylor of Tecumseh; Mitchel Taylor, of Oklahoma City; and John and Peggy Kimer, of Tecumseh; sister, Thelma L. Knoles-Garrett, of Shawnee; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Wanda Quattlebaum, of Shawnee; fourteen grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous extended family and friends.
Visitation will begin 9:00 a.m., Tuesday, March 13, and continue through service time. Family will gather to meet with friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 13. Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 14, at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Chaplain Darrell Whitten officiating.
Burial will follow at Jamison Cemetery, Jacktown, under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Tecumseh.
