EMMETT LEE JOHNSON
1925 - 2001


Emmett Lee Johnson died Sunday in Georgetown, Texas. He was 63.
He was a resident of Austin, Texas, for thirty two years. He began his career with IBM in Lexington, Kentucky, transferring to Austin in 1967. He retired from IBM in 1990 with thirty four years of service. After retiring from IBM, he took a job with the Texas State Senate as a car guard. He retired from the state of Texas in 1997 because of health problems.
He was a member of Mount Vernon Lodge No. 14 A.F. and A.M. in Georgetown, Kentucky Masonic Lodge No. 227 in Round Rock, Texas, and was a member of the Scottish Rite Temple and Ben Hur Shrine Temple. He was past president of the Ben Hur Lizzyteers and past president of the SREKOJ Clown Unit. He worked as a clown and will be remembered as "Loco" the clown.
He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley D. Johnson Sr., grandson, Larry E. Herrin Jr., step-father, Stanley Underwood and mother-in-law, Katheryn Ribbeck.
Surviving are his wife of forty three years, Michaeleen Johnson of Austin, Texas, daughters and sons-in-law, Emily Johnson of Dale, Texas and Paula and Larry Herrin Sr. of Georgetown, Texas, his mother, Pauline Underwood of Georgetown, Kentucky, grandchildren, Denny Herrin and Kathaeleen Herrin and her fiance Aaron Sweeten, all of Georgetown, Texas, Emmett L. Johnson II, Stanley D. Johnson Jr. and his fiancee Eron Farris, all of Austin, Texas, Jennifer L. Johnson of Beaverton, Oregon and Julia Johnson of Littleton, Colorado, great-grandson, Trey Allen Johnson of Austin, Texas, extended family, Minnie and Gale Horton and Mahala and Jewell Rock, all of Shawnee and Ed and Beth Ribbeck of Alaska, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, followed by funeral services in the Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home Chapel in Georgetown, Texas.
Burial will be 1:00 p.m. Friday in the City Cemetery, Stroud.
Arrangements are under the direction of Cook-Walden/Davis Funeral Home.
