RUTH BELLE JILGE
1913 - 2016




Ruth Belle Eckert Jilge, age 102, of Shawnee, Oklahoma was born December 5, 1913, in Harrah, Oklahoma.
She was the daughter of Gottlieb and Cora Hamilton Eckert. She left this life on Friday, January 29, 2016, in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Ruth married Adolf F. Jilge on September 27, 1930 in Tecumseh, Oklahoma.
She was a homemaker and worked at Effinger's produce farm. She enjoyed growing a garden and canning, making homemade bread and rolls, listening to country music, playing bingo and dominoes and spending time at the McLoud Senior Citizens Center.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and son, Lewis "Sonny" Jilge.
Survivors include her four sons and daughters-in-law, Tom Jilge of McLoud, Oklahoma; James and Carol Jilge of Keene, Texas; Eddie and Karen Jilge of San Jose, California and Larry Jilge of Joplin, Missouri; two daughters and son-in-law, Margie Corman of McLoud, Oklahoma and Betty and Tommy May of Shawnee, Oklahoma as well as five generations of grandkids and other relatives and friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 4, 2016, at the Asa Smith Memorial Chapel, Harrah, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at Ferrell Cemetery, Harrah, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
