ELOIS BERTHA ISBELL
1924 - 2011

Elois Bertha Berry Isbell was born on July 20, 1924, in Huntsville, Alabama to Olean and John Berry.
She shares this birthday with grandson Jason Shaffer, great-grandson Gage and great-grandson Legend.
She was blessed with five children, Larry, Sammy, Georgetta, Diane and Jay, along with seventeen grandchildren, fifty seven great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren.
Preceding Grandma in death is loving husband J. B. Isabell {Grandpa}, son Larry Jones, grandsons Keith Hicks and Mickey Jones, granddaughter Kendle Shaffer, as well as her two brothers, two sisters and dogs, Tiny and Dirty Dog.
Grandma was a comical, crafty, straight forward woman who was a great cook, which she primarily did as a job through much of her life. From schools to jails to running her own restaurant, Elois shared her great country cook'n with many. Bringing friends and family alike together, whether in her restaurant or her home, to enjoy good company and great food.
Elois liked to make things from pantyhose pigs to tin can peacocks; she truly was a great artist with her crafts. Grandma loved to garden and fish as well as shoot.
Nearly all who ever knew Elois have probably been told off about one thing or another. She was wise and blunt. There was no fooling her or trying to make her do anything.
Grandma with her quick wits, blunt southern charm and sweet smile will be missed till we all get to heaven to see her again.
Elois {Grandma}, 86, passed away February 10, 2011 and will be laid to rest Wednesday, February 16, 2011 at Wellston Cemetery, Wellston, Oklahoma, next to J. B. {Grandpa} following a graveside service under the direction of Brown's Funeral Parlor of Wellston.
Published February 17, 2011.
