TOMMY WAYNE HOWARD
1944 - 2011


Tommy Wayne Howard, resident of Davenport, passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at his home in rural Davenport.
Tommy was born on October 14, 1944 in Stroud, Oklahoma to Roscoe and Ruby Mary Bolen Howard.
He grew up and lived in the Davenport and Stroud area all his life.
He was a loving son, brother and uncle and was a very special and caring person.
He was of Baptist Faith.
He was known to be protective of his family and loved to tell big stories as well as liking to fish and camp. He loved watching old westerns.
Tommy is survived by his mother, Ruby Naylor of Stroud, Oklahoma; one sister, Betty Melson and her husband, Thomas of Davenport, Oklahoma; four brothers, Cecil Howard of California; David Howard and wife, Bronwyn of Stroud; Butch Howard of Wewoka; and Billy Howard of Fort Worth; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father and brothers Roscoe, Jasper, Russell and Larry Joe Howard.
Graveside services will be held 10:00 Friday, June 17, 2011 at the Davenport Cemetery, Davenport, Oklahoma. Rev. Mike Mitchell will officiate.
Casketbearers will be Ron Miller, Terry Melton, Dennis Bales, Ethan Melson, Mike Melson, Jonathan Melson, Tony Fields, Braden Fields, James Bolen, Tony Melson and Thomas Melson Jr.
Arrangements are entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
Tommy went out with his Boots on.
