EARL ELMO HOWARD
1921 - 2008


E. E. “Mose” Howard, age 87, of rural Parkland went to his home in Heaven, Thursday afternoon, October 16, 2008, at his home.
Mr. Howard was born on September 6, 1921 in Parkland, Oklahoma, the son of Perry C. and Ethel Davis Howard.
He grew up and attended schools in Parkland and was baptized into the Church of the Firstborn at an early age.
He married Ruth Ada Shepherd on September 23, 1944 in Chandler, Oklahoma.
He was a member of the National Rifle Association.
Mose loved to hunt and fish, and especially loved taking care of his cattle. He was known by Grandpa Mose to many children. Mose was also known to help people, he loved planting a garden and giving away the produce to most everyone in the community. He loved his dog “Lacy”.
He was survived by his wife Ruth of the home; one son, Gary Howard and wife Linda of Parkland; two daughters, Joyce Matzke of Parkland; and “Sandy” Payne and husband Dwight of Parkland; three half brothers, Clyde Howard of Colorado; Fred Howard of Agra; and Jimmy Howard and wife Freda of Tryon; six grandchildren, Lisa Robinson, Jessie Howard, Larry Matzke, Luke Greenfield and wife Maranda, Dusty Greenfield and Mashae Greenfield; three great grandchildren, Colby Robinson, Kurtis Matzke and Justin Howard.
Mose was preceded in death by his parents; step mother Mildred Howard; and sisters, Bonnie Herrmann, Irene “Babe” Owsley, Hazel Porter and Marie “Sis” Smyth; brother Brud Howard; half-sister Rosalyn Clayton; half-brother Perry C. Howard; step-sisters Doris Porter and Charlotte McEntire.
His funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday morning, October 20, 2008 at the Parkland Church of the Firstborn with Brother Wayne Tibbett officiating.
Interment will follow in the Parkland Cemetery.
