JAMES CHARLES HORTON
1941 - 2014


James Charles "J. C." Horton was born January 27, 1941 to James Edmond and Sophie Agnes Osterman Horton in Wellston, Oklahoma.
He went to heaven December 12, 2014 at the age of 73 while being cared for in the Integris Hospice House in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
J. C. graduated high school with the class of 1959.
On October 5, 1963 he married Fern Eva Denison. To this union two children were born, James Lynn and Janice Kay.
During his life he worked on a farm, was a butcher at his parents grocery store, Horton's Grocery, worked 25 years for Borden's Milk Co. in Oklahoma City, was a volunteer firefighter for Wellston where he served as the fire chief, and lastly working for the city of Wellston.
Preceding J. C. in death were his parents, James and Sophie and his son, James Lynn Horton.
He leaves behind his wife of 51 years, Fern Horton, of the home; daughter, Janice and her husband Robert Neese of Oklahoma City; his beloved grandson, Zachary James Lynn and his wife Madalyn; his precious granddaughter, Jordan and her fiance' Cole Poland; sister, Rena Mae and her husband Robert Krieg; two nieces, one nephews, and other family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2014 at the Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
