MAYME GERTRUDE HOPKINS
1896 - 1998


Longtime Chandler resident Mayme Gertrude Hayes Hopkins died Tuesday in Oklahoma City. She was 102.
Mrs. Hopkins was born August 25, 1896, near Stroud to Frank and Emma Matthews Hayes.
She married Emil D. Hopkins in Chandler on May 26, 1917.
She had lived in Chandler for many years until she moved to Oklahoma City to be near her son.
She was a homemaker and an active member of the Britton Christian Church, Oklahoma City.
Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law, Hubert and Jo Ann Hopkins, Oklahoma City; Darryl and Nancy Hopkins, San Jose, California; daughter, Maxine Baker, Oklahoma City; sister, Alma Barlow, Edmond; eight grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and one son.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Chandler, with the Rev. Mike Hayes officiating.
Burial will be in Oak Park Cemetery, Chandler.
