MEREDITH M. HOOD
1949 - 2014


Meredith “M” Necessary Hood, 65, of Shawnee, Oklahoma passed away, Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at her home in Shawnee.
She was born February 6, 1949 to Robert J. and Lorene Turnbow Necessary in Tulsa, Oklahoma.
Meredith was raised in the Tulsa area and attended Bixby Public Schools.
She married Tennyson Hood on December 28, 1979 in Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Meredith worked as a medical professional most of her life working as a medical emergency technician and in medical records for many years. She worked at Stillwater Medical Center and Cushing Regional. After moving to Shawnee she began working at Mission Hill Hospital and later transferred to Unity Hospital retiring in 2008.
She loved the outdoors, being a public servant and most importantly, being a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lorene Necessary.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, T.K. Hood of the home; two daughters, Martha Blackstock of Texas and Angel Henson of Shawnee; five sons, Michael John Lamb of North Carolina, Earl Lamb of Enid, Mikul Hood of Shawnee, Joel Robert Hood, of Shawnee and Vernon Woodward of McLoud; eighteen grandchildren; and numerous extended family and many friends.
