ANTHONY PAUL HOLMES
1960 - 2016


Anthony Paul Holmes passed away on January 17, 2016, surrounded by his loving family and friends.
He was born in Welling Oklahoma on January 2, 1960 to Kenneth and Marie Jennings Holmes.
Paul attended school in Caney and Tenkiller public schools. He developed a love of music at a young age and enjoyed singing and going to church, Paul was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn at the Welling camp meetings in 1974 at the age of 14, by Brother Martin Christie.
Paul enjoyed spending time with his daughter, Julie and granddaughter, Kaylee as much as he could.
In 2014 he went to work for OSU Transit, he enjoyed his co-workers and driving a bus until he got sick and had to quit in December 2015. He enjoyed the simple things in life, Faith, Family, and Friends.
Paul is survived by his daughter, Julie Marie Shockley, one granddaughter, Kalee Dame, brother, Dalton Holmes, two sisters, Dorothy Sweet and Gail Overacker and husband, Edgar, and numerous nieces, nephews, friends, and family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Kenneth Holmes and three sisters, Wanda James, Carol Christie and Sharon Sue Holmes.
Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home in Cushing and will be held on Thursday, January 21, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn in Stillwater, Oklahoma.

Brother David Sloate will officiate.
Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery.
