EUGENE WILLIAM HOLIK
1941 - 2009


Eugene William Holik, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born November 16, 1941, in Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on August 23, 2009, in Shawnee, Oklahoma, at the age of 67 years.
Eugene was the son of Emil and Mae Davis Holik.
He served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and worked many years for Macklanburg Duncan as a heavy Equipment operator.
Eugene married Meloba Sherman on April 20, 1973, in Prague.
He was a member of the ZCBJ, WFLA Lodge # 46 in Prague, Oklahoma, having received his 50 year pin, Shawnee Tractor Club, a long time supporter of Prague FFA and was awarded the green hand master farmer. He also played football. Eugene and Melba enjoyed playing with classic cars.
His parents preceded Eugene in death.
Survivors include, his wife, Melba of the home; two brothers and sister in laws, Howard Lee and Shirley Holik of Stroud, Oklahoma; Joe Richard and Linda Holik of Kendrick, Oklahoma; two sisters and brother in laws, Anna Mae and Jerry Peters of Prague; Mary Frances and Gene Flatt of Stroud; mother-in-law, Christine Sherman of Virginia; sister in laws and brother in laws, Kenita and Steve Emory of Virginia; Joanne Sherman of Virginia and Jeannie and Bruce Heath of Georgia as well as other relatives and many friends.
Memorials may be made to the Family of Faith Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, August 28, 2009, 2:00 p.m., at the Family of Faith Church in Shawnee, Oklahoma.
Burial will follow at the New Hope Cemetery, Meeker, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler.
