BONNIE JEWEL HERRMANN
1912 - 2007


Bonnie Howard Herrmann, age 94 of the Agra/Tryon area, passed away on Wednesday, May 9, 2007at her home four miles south of Agra after a long illness.
Bonnie was born on November 18, 1912 at Parkland in a log cabin to Perry C. Howard and Ethel Mamie Davis Howard.
She attended school in Parkland, where she received her early education.
She was baptized into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn by her grandfather Henry Davis in August 1926.
Bonnie was married to Carl Julius Herrmann on January 14, 1932 in Oklahoma City, at the age of 19 years. Together they raised four sons: Eugene, Carl, Alva and Dwayne, three daughters: Alice, Elois and Tennessee. Carl and Bonnie spent most of their married lived together raising their family in the Parkland area on the farm.
She and Carl moved to Cushing where they lived for several years until Carl’s death in 1969.
Bonnie and Carl both worked for Gibble Oil Co. in Cushing as well as three of their sons, Eugene, Carl and Alva and their daughter Tennessee.
She will be remembered for her love of quilting, oil painting, crocheting and her jolly laughter. She loved to write articles of old times and experiences of her Pioneer days spent in the Parkland area.
Her survivors include three sons, Eugene Herrmann and wife Hazel of Cushing; Alva Herrmann and wife Janice of Agra; Dwayne Herrmann and wife Darlene of Agra; daughter Elois Kirkpatrick and husband Clifford of Jackson, Wyoming; brothers Elmo Howard of Kendrick; Fred Howard of Agra; Clyde Ernie Howard of Pleasantview, Colorado; Jimmie Howard of Tryon; twenty two grandchildren; sixty two great grandchildren; and thirty seven great great grandchildren; also a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who knew her as “Grandma Bonnie”.
She was preceded in death by her husband Carl Julius Herrmann; her father and mother; Perry C. and Ethel Howard; two daughters Alice Drake and Tennessee Crow; son Carl Herrmann Jr.; sisters Hazel Porter, Marie Smyth, Irene Owsley, Rosalyn Clayton, Charlotte McEntire and Dorsalee Porter; brothers Henry Farish Howard and Perry C. Howard; and grandson Nicky Terrell Herrmann.
Funeral services will be held on 10:30 a.m., Saturday at the Parkland Church of the Firstborn, Parkland, Oklahoma. Brother Richard Wright and Brother Randall Wright will officiate.
Interment and final rites will be conducted at the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Arrangements are entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma.
