HAROLD A. HEINZIG
1926 - 2010


Harold A. "Dutch" Heinzig was born on November 13, 1926, in the township of Old Dent near Prague, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Sunday, January 10, 2010, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 83 years.
Dutch, the son of John and Myrtle Dovie Mobley Heinzig, was a resident of Yukon, Oklahoma.
He was a graduate of Prague High School.
He proudly served his country with the United States Maritime Service. In 1944, he was assigned to the SS Hanley and later the SS James K. Lane. These vessels shipped materials and equipment to support the Armed Forces in the war zones of the South Pacific during World War II. Following his military service, he worked for Sears for 22 years in air conditioning, heating, and plumbing sales.
He married Bonnie Jean Guinn on August 24, 1967 in Oklahoma City.
Dutch was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and John in 1997 and his brother, Clyde in 2007.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Bonnie Heinzig of the home; sons and daughters-in-law, Karl and Betty Heinzig of Oklahoma City; Gerald and Janis Thomas of Winchester, Kentucky; Mason Estes of Noble; sister and brother-in-law, Lavonne and Ledoy Dukes of Prague; grandchildren, Destiny, Stacy, Todd, Merle and Loren; and six great-grandchildren as well as other relatives and many friends.
Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 13, 2010, at Prague with Chaplain David Bradley officiating.
Burial followed at Prague Cemetery under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
