RUBY M. HASKIN
1915 - 2005


Ruby M. Gooch Haskin, longtime Cushing area resident, passed away on Thursday, December 8, 2005 in the Linwood Village Nursing Home at the age of 90 years.
The daughter of the late Granville Marion Gooch and Elizabeth Bruce Gooch, Ruby was born on November 27, 1915 in Stroud, Oklahoma and was raised north of Stroud.
She was united in marriage to Harold Haskin on June 9, 1935 in Stroud. The couple moved to Kansas shortly following their marriage, living in Kansas for just a few years. At this time they returned to Cushing, and had lived here since. To this union, four children, Herschel, Neil, Linda and Bruce were born.
Harold preceded her in death on August 29, 1992.
Ruby was a longtime member of the First United Methodist church.
She enjoyed canning, gardening, crossword puzzles and embroidery.
Ruby is survived by two sons, Neil Haskin and his wife Helen of St. Charles, Missouri; and Bruce Haskin and his wife Marcia of Olathe, Kansas; one daughter Linda Hughes and her husband Mike of Stillwater; one daughter-in-law Pat Haskin of Cushing; eleven grandchildren; twenty six great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son Herschel Haskin; four brothers Raymond Gooch, Fred Gooch, Ira Gooch and George Gooch; three sisters, Luella Gooch, Edna Wolff, Bertha Gooch and one infant sister, Myrtle Gooch.
Services will be held Monday, December 12, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the First United Methodist Church with Reverend Ted Uhlig officiating.
Burial will follow in the Avery Cemetery.
Casketbearers will be Harold Haskin, Michael Haskin, S. Craig Haskin, Randall Haskin, Brent Hughes, Barry Hughes, David Haskin and Jeremy Haskin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church or to Judith Karman Hospice in her name.
