CRYSTAL INEZ HARRIS
1978 - 2013

Crystal Inez Danker Harris passed away on Sunday, July 21 in Oklahoma City at the age of 35 surrounded by her devoted husband, family and friends.
Crystal was born on Easter Sunday, March 26, 1978, in Chandler, Oklahoma, to Herman and Tressie Goggin Danker.
She was the youngest of five children. The shy blue-eyed blonde could usually be found hanging tight to her mother's leg. She loved to play with Barbies and dolls, which she would line up in a row to watch television with her. Crystal's childhood, however, was unlike most. Just before her 14th birthday, her long health battle began. A wound on her knee made walking across the stage at her eighth grade graduation very doubtful. But with her tenacious spirit and strong will to survive, Crystal not accomplished that goal, but went on to serve as senior class president and graduate at the top of her class at Wellston High School.
She married Shaun Harris, her high school sweetheart, on June 13, 1998 in Wellston.
A year later, she graduated with honors from Seminole State College with a nursing degree. Her first job after becoming a registered nurse was helping to take care of babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Children's Hospital, the same place she spent so much time in as a teenage patient. She later worked for the Oklahoma City-County Health Department where she provided treatment to expecting mothers and taught them how to care for their newborn babies. Ailing health forced her to retire from the job she loved in 2003.
Crystal enjoyed reading, watching NCIS marathons and attending Bullnanza and George Straight concerts. She also loved to collect angels and spend time with her nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Andy and Mary Inez Goggin and Bill Danker; her special cousin Kimberly Goggin; and her two precious sons -- Scott and Tyler.
Crystal is survived by her devoted husband, Shaun, of the home; her parents, Herman and Tressie Danker; three brothers - Hank Danker, of Wellston; Todd and Kasi Danker of Bridge Creek; and Calvin and Melissa Danker of Wellston; and one sister, Jessica Mitchell, of Wellston; eleven nieces and nephews -- Alyssa and Andrew Danker; Morgan and Ethan Danker; Beth and Beau Danker; Dalton and Becky Selcer; and Kelsee, Brayden and Kaylee Mitchell; great niece MacKenna Danker-Gray; mother- and father-in-law Danny and Peggy Harris of Wellston; sisters-in-law Tina and Tera Harris of Oklahoma City; grandmother-in-law Mary Looney of Wellston; as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
The family would like to invite friends to come and share memories during a reception in Crystal's honor from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
A funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the Wellston High School Gymnasium.
Interment will follow in the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
