LEOLA MERLE GREENFIELD
1930 - 2016

Leola Merle Orr Greenfield, 85, of Chandler, Oklahoma departed this earth, surrounded by her family, friends, and caregivers, on Friday, January 8, 2016, at Chandler Nursing Center, which was her final residence and her home.
Leola was born Leola Orr, June 25, 1930, to Guy Orr and Vedith Rice Orr. She was the 6th of 9 children and lived in the Chandler area all of her life.
Leola was a Class of 1948 Chandler High School Alum.
On September 15, 1951, she married Emory Clarence Greenfield, of Chandler, together they had four children, daughter and son-in-law, Diana and Dennis Camren of Agra, Oklahoma, son and daughter-In-law, Gene and Faith Greenfield of Shawnee, Oklahoma, daughter, Jan Greenfield of Chandler, daughter and son-in-law, Jill and John Winkler of Noel, Missouri, four grandchildren, Kevin Camren of Agra, Justin Greenfield of Norman, Lori Molloy of Agra and Jacob Winkler of Noel, Missouri and two great-grandchildren, Trent Camren of Glencoe and Drake Molloy of Agra.
Leola was a member of The First Nazarene Church of Chandler, though she enjoyed visiting the different churches in the area in her later years.
She began work for Chandler Public Schools in 1983, working in the school cafeteria at East Side School. She loved working with the little kids, and loved their innocence and how they would hug her and bring her notes and little gifts, all of which she saved throughout these years, later, she became custodian and worked at both the High School and the Media Center, making many friends along the way. Leola loved working for the school and it became her life, the staff, teachers, and kids becoming her extended family. Even after retiring in 2013, due to the complications and advancing Alzheimer's disease, you couldn't convince her that she wasn't "working for school", no matter how long she was away from it. It was a part of her, and she was a part of it.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emory C. Greenfield, parents, Guy and Vedith Orr, sisters, Velma Phebus and Viola Chappell and brothers, Vernon Orr and Melvin Orr.
Leola's surviving brothers are Alvin Orr, Donald Orr and Leon Orr and one sister, Wanda Burrows.
Services for Leola, will be held Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at The First Baptist Church of Chandler.
Officiating will be Rev. Keith Cole and Rev. Rick Blackwell.
Burial will follow at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service.
