MILAN AND JULIA GOSS

Milan and Julia Pinon Goss made the Oklahoma Run and settled on a farm near Carney. Later they sold it, and bought several acres in the Knapp addition.
Their rambling, typical two story territorial-type house was located one block north of Mr. Knapp's house, on West First Street.
Mrs. Goss was of French descent, and was born in 1860. Mr. Goss was born in Pennsylvania, in about 1858.
They lived in Kansas, where they had met, before making the run. They had no children, but Mr. Goss had a nephew, Warren Goss, of Okemah.
They were members of the Christian Church in both Carney and Chandler.
Mr. Goss died in the late 1930's. Mrs. Goss died about two years later.
They were wonderful neighbors, sharing their garden vegetables, beautiful flowers and homemade delicacies with neighbors and friends.
Mrs. Goss made lace and raised chickens. Mr. Goss raised purebred cattle, along with his truck farming and gardening.
