BENJAMIN FRANKLIN SR.
1956 - 2004


Benjamin Franklin Sr. died Saturday at Drumright. He was 86.
Franklin was born October 24, 1913, in Avery to Randal and Sarah Ellis Franklin Carter.
He lived north of Stroud all his life and married Bernice H. Spooner on April 10, 1036, in Chandler.
He played semi-pro baseball for the Texas League and was also a painter.
He was a member of the Only Way Baptist Church, north of Stroud.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice of the home; two sons, Ronnie Franklin and Ben Franklin Jr., both of Cushing; four daughters, Loretta Big Bow of Yukon; Sharon Little of Shawnee; Beatrice Franklin of Eufaula and Cheryl Crane of Perkins; sixteen grandchildren, twenty two great-grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters, one half-brother and one grandson.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home Chapel, Stroud, with the Rev. Ellis Rollette officiating.
Burial will be in the Sac and Fox Cemetery.
