ELGIE CARIL FORD
1926 - 2013


Elgie Caril Ford of Harrah, Oklahoma, age 87, was born on February 13, 1926, in Barnsdall, Oklahoma. He was the son of Obed and Maggie Ann King Ford. He departed this life on Tuesday, August 13, 2013, in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Elgie married Virgie Opaline Palmer on March 24, 1944, in Coalgate, Oklahoma.
He retired from OG&E where he was a boiler mechanic.
Elgie was a member of the Choctaw Church of the Nazarene and the Harrah Historical Society.
He played in the senior citizens band in Harrah for many years. He enjoyed playing the guitar, playing with his grandchildren and was a great back scatcher.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Opal, three brothers and four sisters.
Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn Sue and Bobby Capps of Corsicana, Texas, Penny Caril and Greg Dzuik of Renten, Washington, Theresa Evelyn Brewer of Hinton, Oklahoma and Lisa Opal and Doug Allen of Hinton, Oklahoma; brother, Buddy Ford of California; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and many other relatives and special friends.
Services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, August 16, 2013, at the Choctaw Church of the Nazarene, Choctaw, Oklahoma with Rev. Hubert Gilbert officiating.
Interment will follow at Ferrell Cemetery, Harrah, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
