JAMES RAY FOLSOM
1942 - 2013


James Ray Folsom was born January 20, 1942 in Dover, Oklahoma to Ira Edgar and Viola Harris Folsom and passed away January 4, 2013 in Wellston, Oklahoma at the age of 70.
Jim married Carol Ann Crawford June 30, 1972 and celebrated 50 years together.
He loved fishing, gardening, NASCAR, cooking the family recipe turkey and dressing and carpentry work especially making nativity figures.
He served as treasurer of the Trinity Baptist Church for 22 years. As a paraplegic, he was very proud to mow his own yard which consisted of three acres. He loved spending time with his family, especially the little ones and nothing could slow him down.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond Folsom and Clarence Folsom; brother-in-law, Jim Crawford; father-in-law, Bud Crawford and son-in-law, Lloyd Starkey.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Ann, of the home; children, Rhonda Starkey of Midwest City; Deborah Cahwee of Tulsa; Curtis Folsom of Wellston; eight grandchildren, Crystal and her husband Chad; Stephanie and her husband Antwan; Ryon, Michael, Stephen, Andrew and his wife Stephanie; Jacob, Kristen; six great-grandchildren, Mercedes, Colbey, Quintin, Skyla, Hailey and Makayla.
Funeral services are at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at the Trinity Baptist Church of Wellston with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
