RUAL ARLEN FIELDEN
1920 - 2013


Rual Arlen "R. A." Fielden was born on August 5, 1920, in Castle, Oklahoma, and departed this life on Friday, June 21, 2013, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 92.
R. A., the son of William Oscar and Dexter Smith Fielden, was a resident of Edmond.
He graduated from Paden High School with the class of 1938, received a Bachelor's of Science in Education from Northeastern State University, and a Master's in Education from Oklahoma State University.
He married Crystal Lackey, his wife of 73 years, at Tahlequah, Oklahoma.
R. A. taught at Carney, Sapulpa, Midway, ONG, Milfay, Vidaway and Woodland. At various locations he also served as Principal and Superintendent.
He also served two terms as Lincoln County Superintendent. Following his retirement from public education in 1985, he opened Fielden Realty in Prague. He owned and operated the Realty Company until he and Crystal moved to Edmond in 2006. At one time he also owned and operated an abstract company.
His parents and brother preceded R. A. in death.
Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Crystal Fielden of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Arlen and Mary Jane Fielden of Edmond; grandchildren, Craig and Jennifer Fielden of Seattle, Washington and Brian and Paige Fielden of Atlanta, Georgia, great-grandchildren, Heidi, Maddie, Zoe, Christopher and Blake Fielden as well as numerous friends.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 26, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Prague with Palmer Smith officiating.
Interment will follow at the Prague Cemetery.
