STANFORD EVANS
1917 - 2000


Lifelong Wellston resident Stanford Evans died Friday, November 3, in Oklahoma City. He was 82.
Evans was born December 21, 1917, in Wellston, to William J. and Margaret Godard Evans.
He married Ruth Phelps on November 3, 1932, in Wellston. She preceded him in death on July 26, 1997.
Evans was a pipeline inspector and welder, and a member of the Golden Pipe Fitters Union for 55 years.
He attended the First Assembly of God Church in Wellston.
He was preceded in death by his parents, William J. and Margaret Evans; five brothers and a sister.
Survivors include his daughter and son-in-law, Rogena and Von Harrison, Yantis, Texas; three brothers, Bob Evans, Warwick; Clecil Evans, Wellston; Dean Evans, Longview, Texas; three sisters, Marie Buffington, San Antonio, Texas; Anietta Cole, Van Buren, Arkansas; Mayvell Duncan, Redland, Oregon; a grandchild; three great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren and other relatives and friends.
The memorial book may be signed from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. today at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.
Services will be 10:00 a.m. Monday at the First Assembly of God Church in Wellston, with the Rev. Dewayne Settle officiating.
Burial will be in Wellston Cemetery.
Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Chandler, is in charge of arrangements.
