PATRICIA ANN DOUGHERTY
1934 - 2009


Patricia "Patsy" Ann Schachle Dougherty died December 6, 2009.
She was born December 27, 1934 at Sandridge, Oklahoma to Charles and Audra {Rowland} Schachle.
They then moved south of Elk City where she grew up and attended Merritt School, St. Joseph Catholic School and graduated from Elk City High School.
She then moved to Oklahoma City where she attended Draughn's Business School and began working as a secretary for a CPA firm.
She married Edward Paul Dougherty on June 18, 1955 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk City, and had six children.
In 1966, after the death of Eddie's father, they moved to Wellston to take care of the family farm.
Patsy worked as a waitress at the City Café in Wellston. They owned and operated Dougherty and Sons Garage and Wrecker Service until Eddie's death in 1990. She then went to work as a cook at The Edmond Nursing Center and then the Chandler Nursing Center until her retirement in 2002.
She loved family gatherings and all the good food, candy, putting puzzles together, working crossword puzzles, sewing, playing games {especially BINGO}, dancing, listening to country music, going out to eat and spending time with her grandkids.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her sister Marian Venters, infant son, Vincent Dougherty, sister-in-law Jewel Dougherty, and special friend Warren Sherrill.
She is survived by her daughter, Paula and Wes Pedigo of Wellston; sons, Mickey and wife Joy Dougherty of Greenville, South Carolina; Charlie and wife Renee Dougherty of Wellston; Pat and wife Becky of Seiling, Oklahoma; Tom and wife Lettie of Edmond; sisters, Charlene Chaney of Oklahoma City; Rosa Schachle of Dallas, Texas; Mary Kreft of Corbin, Kentucky; brother, Charles Schachle Jr. of Dallas, Texas; seventeen grandchildren, Seth and wife Elizabeth Pedigo of Oklahoma City; Nikkie and husband Jeremy Allen of Wellston; Chad and wife Holly Dougherty of Oklahoma City; C. J. and husband Preston Bell of Tecumseh; Josh Dougherty of Ft. Drum, New York; Jeffrey Schmidt of Kansas City, Missouri; Amanda Jones of Wellston; Shawna Hyle of Wellston; Karen Folsom of Greenville, South Caroline; Annja Berry of Oklahoma City, Matthew and Kyle Dougherty of Prague; Levi, Luke and Abby Dougherty of Seiling, Oklahoma; Heather Winchester of Edmond;and Leslie Dougherty of Edmond; fourteen great grandchildren with another due in July 2010; special sister-in-law and friend Birgette Berg of Grand Junction, Colorado; as well as numerous nieces and nephews in California, Colorado and Arkansas.
Visitation will be held at Lehman Funeral Home Wednesday evening till 9:00 p.m. and Thursday morning.
Funeral services will be in the Lehman Funeral Home Chapel Thursday at 2:00 p.m. with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home.
