LuELLA MAE DETHLOFF
1933 - 2011


LuElla Mae Shaull Dethloff, a longtime Cushing area resident, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 in the Meeker Nursing Home at the age of 78 years.
The daughter of the late Homer Shaull and Gladys Bradley Shaull, LuElla was born on July 4, 1933 in Yale, Oklahoma.
She grew up at Yale attending school in Quay and Council Valley. She graduated from Cushing High School with the class of 1952, which she later became the coordinator of their class reunion. Following graduation, she attended Draughns Business School in Tulsa.
Many will remember LuElla from her days working at the City Drug, T.G. & Y, Red Barn, Cushing Floral, and Heritage Flower Shop.
LuElla was united in marriage to Edwin Dethloff on April 28, 1953 and to this union three children, Teresa, Jane, and Barry were born. Edwin preceded LuElla in death on July 22, 2007.
Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Barrett and her husband, Ernest of Stroud, Oklahoma and Jane Miller and her husband, Grant of Stroud; one son, Barry Dethloff and his wife, Carmen of Moore, Oklahoma; two brothers, Donald Shaull and his wife, Mildred of Pryor, Oklahoma and Harry Shaull and his wife, Betty of Bixby, Oklahoma; one sister-in-law, Geraldine Shaull of Cushing, Oklahoma; five grandchildren, Dustin Miller and his wife, Jae; Kevin Barrett, Misti Cassels and her husband, Josh; Brandon Woodham and Amelia Dethloff; three great-grandchildren, Zoey Barrett-Gilmore, Donavan Miller and Jaxson Miller; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, LuElla was preceded in death by one brother, LaRoy Shaull.
Funeral services have been entrusted to the care of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing Oklahoma and will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 23, 2011 in the First Christian Church, Cushing, Oklahoma with Pastor Jim Shaull officiating.
Burial will follow in the Avery Cemetery.
Family will greet friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
