BURTON ALLEN DAVIS
1944 - 2016


Burton Allen Davis was born May 10, 1944 in Chandler, Oklahoma to Oatha and Lucille Crow Davis. He passed away September 27, 2016 in Edmond at 72 years of age.
Burton grew up in Carney where he graduated from high school in 1962.
He spent many years working in construction where he helped build the Myriad Convention Center and Mercy Hospital along with many other sites in Oklahoma. His final job was building the Wellston High School Gymnasium where he was offered a job as the school custodian. Burton served the Wellston school system for the next 33 years. He spent 21 years on the Wellston Fire Department.
He enjoyed gardening and was a wonderful brother, father, uncle and friend. Burton enjoyed fishing so much, he often spent weeks planning a one day fishing trip.
Burton is preceded in death by his parents, wife of almost 52 years, Edith Donaldson Davis and sister, Chloe Evans.
Survivors include, son, Richard Davis of the home, siblings, Linda and her husband Sam Carder of Chandler and Paul Davis and his wife Judy of Wellston along with many other family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, October 1, 2016 in the Wellston High School Gymnasium with interment following in the Wellston Cemetery.
Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
