CHRISTOPHER C. DAUGHERTY JR.
1924 - 2012

Christopher C. Daugherty Jr., 87, of Norman, passed from this life Thursday, September 6, 2012 in the Norman Regional Medical Center. Christopher was born in Cushing, Oklahoma on October 11,1924 to Christopher Sr. and Blanche Daugherty.
C. C. lived in Cushing and graduated from Cushing High School.
He was inducted into the Army where he served his country well.
On August 16, 1948 he was joined in marriage to Thressa Barnard, the love of his life.
He was a butcher for I.G.A. in Cushing for many years.
Those who knew C.C., knew he was a true treasure hunter. He loved having fun.
He loved going with Thressa to the flea markets and setting up the booth. After Thressa passed from this life, shopping became his social life. He loved giving suggestions to the different stores where he shopped. It was his way of trying to help them be the very best.
C.C. never met a stranger. He was so outgoing, the family often would hear from others, "Hey we met your dad." C.C. was an avid reader, in fact he would read the newspaper front to back.
Above all he loved his grandchildren and he was a generous to a fault.
He is survived by his daughter, Brenda Daugherty Miller and husband Kendall of Stillwater; two grandchildren, Jennifer Evans and husband Richard; Heather Rodgers and husband Greg; seven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife and two sisters, Ruth and Glendoris.
Services are under the direction of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home.
Services will be held Monday at 11:00 a.m. in the chapel of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 5106 N. Washington Stillwater, Oklahoma.
