CECIL EDWIN CROWLEY
1939 - 2014


Cecil Edwin “Butch” Crowley, born January 1, 1939 in Wheelersburg, Ohio to Bill and Francas Meyers Barney.
His grandparents raised him until the age of 11 years old. His mother remarried to Bob Crowley and they gave him the Crowley name.
At age 17 he joined the marines for 4 years and learned much about running heavy equipment. Afterwords he joined the “Union of Operating Engineers” and is a 50 year member.
He met and married Kittie Sue in September of 1965 in Buena Vista, Colorado. They traveled many places together following construction work for 5 years.
They met brethren and was taught the faith. They were baptized together in the Ft. Tupton, Colorado Canal on January 3, 1972 by Brother Doyle Nelson into the General Assembly and Church of the Firstborn.
They left Colorado and moved to Ralston, Oklahoma when the children were small. They stayed there for 10 years and moved to Stillwater in 1989 and he was ordained on March 25, 1990.
Butch had always worked in Ponca City running Big Tower Cranes and did this all the past years until being ordained be wanted to be closer in Stillwater to service the Brethren.
He did handy man work, learned to paint from the Cramers for awhile and finally took a part time job at Stillwater Building Center and there he loved to bring Sue’s Cakes and Burritos and feed everyone.
He is survived by his wife of the home, Sue Crowley, sons, R. D. Crowley, Robbie Chad Crowley and Randy Lee Crowley and eleven grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at the Church of the Firstborn, Fairground and Hwy 51, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
Interment will follow at Parkland Cemetery.
Arrangements are under the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Stillwater, Oklahoma.
