VANCE EDWIN CROWE
1938 - 2016


Vance Edwin Crowe, Chandler, Oklahoma, resident was born February 11, 1938, in Berryville, Arkansas, and departed this life May 14, 2016, in Missoula, Montana, at the age of 78 years.
Vance was the son of Richard and Iva Meadors Crowe.
He married Aimee Jones on August 25, 1960, in Montgomery, Alabama.
was a student of the Bible. He loved to preach and teach God's word.
Vance worked with youth for many years and was manager of Pettijohn Springs Christian Camp in Madill, Oklahoma for twelve years and director of Camp Blue Haven in Las Vegas, New Mexico for seventeen years. Throughout the years Vance and Aimee were foster parents to fifteen children.
He loved the outdoors. When springtime was near he started tilling the soil for his garden, planting more than he needed for his family, as he enjoyed sharing it with friends and neighbors.
Vance never wanted to discard broken or damaged items - he had a determination to make them useful again.
Vance was a friend and mentor to many, no matter the age. He rarely met a stranger!
His parents preceded Vance in death.
Survivors include his wife of fifty-five years, Aimee of the home; one son, Travis Crowe {Karen} of Meeker, Oklahoma; one daughter Katrina {Terry} of Helena, Montana; two brothers, Quentin Crowe of Alabama and Shirley Crowe of Houston, Texas; six grandchildren, one great-grandchild, numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.
The Crowe family will receive friends and family from 5:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. on Friday May 20, 2016, at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Chandler.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 21, 2016, at New Zion Cemetery in Chandler.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Chandler, Oklahoma.
We suggest anyone attending the graveside service bring a lawn chair.
