DOYLE IRVIN COOK
1923 - 2012


Doyle Irvin Cook, longtime Cushing resident, passed away Thursday morning, February 23, 2012, in Tulsa at the age of 88 years.
The son of the late Carl Cook and Rilla Lula Davidson Cook, Doyle was born on November 26, 1923 in Drumright, Oklahoma and was raised and educated in that area.
He was united in marriage to Rancilena Dickerson in 1942 and the couple had been married for over 48 years prior to her death in 1990.
Doyle had worked in the oil industry most all of his life.
He was a member of the Followers Church and a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II. He was a member of the V.F.W. and enjoyed watching westerns on TV and spending time with his family and friends.
Survivors include his children, Linda Warner of Claremore; Phyllis Henderson of Tulsa; Charles Cook of Drumright; Larry Cook of Drumright; Jane Leakey and her husband Tom of Dyer, Arkansas and Joyce George of Oklahoma City; sixteen grandchildren; twenty three great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Alvin and Ralph and five sisters, Mellie, Blanche, Essie, Wilma and Leta.
Graveside services will be held Monday, February 27, 2012 at 10:00 a.m. in the Flynn Cemetery with Chaplin Joe Molencupp, officiating.
Full military services will be conducted by the local V.F.W. Post 1118.
