VONA LEE COKER
1931 - 2014


Vona Lee Murphy Coker, age 83, of Shawnee, Oklahoma was born February 16, 1931, in Vega, Texas. She was the daughter of Charlie Joe and Mary Blasingame McMurphy. She left this life on Tuesday, August 19, 2014, in Midwest City, Oklahoma.
Vona worked at Walmart for many years as a stocker and sales clerk.
She was a member of Sharon Baptist Church in Shawnee.
Vona enjoyed painting, gardening and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Cecil Coker and two sisters, LaVeta Cash and Angie Berry.
Survivors include her twi daughters and son-in-law, Linda and Floyd "Kenny" Whitney of Harrah, Oklahoma, Darlene Wages of Shawnee, Oklahoma, brother, Gale McMurphy of Norman, Oklahoma, two granddaughters, Robyn and Shane Valdez of Norman, Oklahoma, Amanda and Billy Beard of Norman, Oklahoma, two great-grandchildren, Madelynn and Shane Valdez and many other relatives and friends.
Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2014, at Hillside Baptist Church, McLoud, Oklahoma with Rev. Tuney Ropp officiating.
Interment will follow at Jamison Cemetery, McLoud, Oklahoma.
Services are under the direction of Smith~Parks Funeral Service in Harrah, Oklahoma.
