LAURA E. CARTER
1917 - 2013


Laura E. Canary Carter was born in Blanchard, Oklahoma on July 16, 1917 and departed this life in Stroud, Oklahoma on Monday, July 1, 2013 at the age of 95.
Laura was the daughter of Charlie and Mary Teague Canary.
Laura was a resident of Stroud, Oklahoma for twenty one years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Stroud, Oklahoma and worked as a School Cafeteria Manager.
She married Garland Carter on January 3, 1933 and he preceded her in death on June 30, 1992.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister.
Survivors include two daughters and son in laws, Ann and James Thomas of Stroud, Oklahoma, Mary and Harold Zwahlen of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, two brothers, Gerald Canary of Fairland, Oklahoma, Finis Canary of Bridge Creek, Oklahoma, five grandchildren, Gary and wife Jan Thomas, Larry and wife Tammy Thomas, Kay and husband Kevin Burney, Jenell and husband Gary Williams and Tim and wife Kim Zwahlem, ten great grandchildren, three great great granddaughters, other relatives and friends.
Funeral service will be held at the Parks Brothers Chapel in Stroud, Oklahoma at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 3, 2013 with Rev. Burl Mackey officiating.
Burial will follow in the Blanchard Cemetery, Blanchard, Oklahoma at 2:00 p.m. under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Stroud, Oklahoma.
