ROY RAY BURNS
1931 - 2008


Roy Ray Burns, age 77 of Cushing, passed away on Sunday, June 1, 2008 at the Drumright Hospital.
Ray Burns was born on March 21, 1931 in Kendrick, Oklahoma to Elmer and Callie Messer Burns.
He grew up in Kendrick, attending Kendrick schools.
Ray enjoyed playing basketball and graduated from Kendrick High School in 1949.
He married Billie Wonderly on December 24, 1951 in Stroud, Oklahoma.
He began working for Kerr McGee Corporation as a gauger. Ray worked for Kerr McGee for over 30 years, retiring at the age of 62. During his years with Kerr McGee, they lived in Drumright, Seminole and Konawa from 1958-1974, transferring to Cushing in 1974 where they have lived since.
He was an avid golfer. Ray liked to bird hunt.
In his spare time, he took care of his car washes.
Ray enjoyed spending time with his special friend, Harvey Kates. They enjoyed coffee, lunch and snickers.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Betty Brown.
Ray is survived by his wife, Billie of the home, son, Marty Burns of Oklahoma City, daughters, Regina Cannon and husband Tony of Weatherford, Krista Cuzalina and husband George of Goodyear, Arizona, brother, Jimmy Burns of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, grandchildren, Breea Bowman, Missy Welch, Bryce Clark, Rachelle Franz, Robyn Randol, Colton, Connor and Ayden Burns, Hilary, Gabby and Michael Cuzalina, and seven great grandchildren and special friend, Harvey Kates of Cushing.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2008 at the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
Rev. Gary A. Brown will officiate.
