CALLIE MESSER BURNS
1909 - 2004


Funeral services for Callie Messer Burns, 94, of Kendrick will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 16, 2004 at the Assembly of God Church in Kendrick. Rev. Darrell Robinson will officiate.
Mrs. Burns died on Tuesday, January 13, 2004 at the Cushing Regional Hospital.
Born March 16, 1909 in Kendrick to Sylvester and Rachel Smith Messer.
She received her early education in the Davenport School.
Mrs. Burns was owner of the Burns Rest Home in Kendrick, which was the first Nursing Center in Lincoln County. She retired in 1972.
She was married to Elmer "Short" Burns on June 16, 1928 in Chandler.
She was a member of the Kendrick Assembly of God Church and also was a member of the Rod and Rollers camping club.
Her husband and one daughter, Betty Pearl Brown preceded Mrs. Burns in death.
Survivors include two sons, Roy Ray Burns of Cushing and Jimmie Dale Burns of Sand Springs, eleven grandchildren, twenty four great grandchildren and ten great-great grandchildren as well as other relatives and numerous friends.
Interment will follow at the Parkland Cemetery in Parkland.
Funeral services will be under the direction of the Palmer Funeral Home of Cushing.
The family asks that memorials be made to Judith Karman Hospice P.O. Box 818, Stillwater, Oklahoma 74076.
