BILLIE KATHRYN BURNS
1932 - 2010


Billie Kathryn Wonderly Burns, a Cushing resident and longtime member of Park Place Baptist Church, passed away on Friday, May 28, 2010 in the Drumright Hospital at the age of 78 years.
The daughter of the late Ralph Wonderly and Edith Hale Wonderly, Billie was born in Kendrick, Oklahoma. She was reared and educated in Kendrick, graduating from Kendrick High School where she played basketball.
Billie was united in marriage to Ray Burns on December 24, 1951 in Stroud, Oklahoma.
Ray had worked for Kerr McGee for over 30 years and during that time he and Billie made their home in several communities, including Drumright, Seminole, and Konawa before moving to Cushing in 1974.
While living in Cushing Billie was very active in her church, Park Place Baptist Church.
She also enjoyed quilting and sewing.
Her greatest love was spending time with her family.
In addition to her parents, Billie was preceded in death by her husband Ray and one sister Mildred Crawford.
Billie is survived by one son; Marty Burns of Yukon; two daughters; Regina Cannon and husband Tony of Weatherford; and Krista Cuzalina and husband George of Goodyear, Arizona; three sisters, Emma Lou Stephens and her husband Howard of Kendrick; Willa Mae Murphy and her husband Henry of Oilton; and Betty Jean Murphy and her husband George of Big Springs, Texas; eleven grandchildren, Breea Bowman, Missy Welch, Bryce Clark, Rachelle Franz, Robyn Randol, Colton, Connor and Ayden Burns, Hilary, Gabby and Michael Cuzalina; seven great grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and numerous friends.
Graveside services have been entrusted to the Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Cushing, Oklahoma and will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 1, 2010 in the Parkland Cemetery, Parkland, Oklahoma.
