TRESSIE MARIE BROWN
1920 - 2016


Tressie Marie Gallaway Brown was born on November 4, 1920, in Meeker, Oklahoma and departed this life on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in Meeker, at the age of 95.
Tressie, the daughter of Arthur Joseph and Ada Maude Boland Gallaway, was a life-long resident of Meeker.
She married Melvin Henry Brown in September 1940. Together they had three daughters.
Tressie was a homemaker for many years and an excellent cook. Later in life she began a career with the Oklahoma Tax Commission where she later retired.
Tressie loved flowers. She was a member of Mammoth Baptist Church.
Her parents, husband and brother, Houston Gallaway preceded her in death.
Survivors include her daughters, Coretta Marie Cole of Maud, Dorothy McCathern of Meeker and Mary Lou Bachhofer of Tecumseh, brother and sister-in-law, Charles and Janice Gallaway of Meeker, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren and many other family and friends.
The Brown family will receive friends on Friday, November 4, 2016 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Meeker.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 5, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Mammoth Baptist Church in Meeker with Rev. Mike Hazelwood officiating.
Interment will follow at New Salem Cemetery.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
