DAVID COLBY BROWN SR.
1947 - 2014


David Colby Brown Sr. was born on March 26, 1947, in Shawnee Oklahoma, and departed this life on Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, at the age of 69.
David, the son of Louis and Rosemary Gallaway Brown, was a resident of Meeker.
He married Peggy Merritt on May 13, 1966 in Meeker.
David was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker.
After completing his education at OSU in Okmulgee David spent many years working for Cummins Diesel in Oklahoma City as a diesel mechanic. He enjoyed traveling and working on anything mechanical.
David is survived by his wife of 49 years, Peggy, of the home; his parents, Louis and Rosemary Brown of Meeker; sons and daughters-in-law, David Brown Jr. and his wife Mercy, and Jon Brown and his wife Felicia of Chickasha; brothers and sisters-in-law, Dwain and Susan Brown of Meeker, Roger and Karen Brown of Meeker and Dick and Linda Brown of Meeker; eight grandchildren; seven great grandchildren as well as a host of family and friends.
The Brown family will receive friends on Monday, April 25, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at Parks Brothers Funeral Home in Meeker.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 26, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Meeker with Bro Joe Jones officiating.
Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
