1928 - 2011


Meeker resident, H. C. “Tommy” Bowen, went to be with his Heavenly Father March 15, 2011, at the age of 82.
He was born April 25, 1928, near Rossville to Henry and Nina Zella Bowen Bowen, of Payson.
On September 4, 1948, he married the love of his life, Bobbie Wilkerson. They were married for 62 1/2 years.
He worked almost 40 years for OG&E as a mechanic foreman at Horseshoe Lake in Harrah.
Tommy loved fishing, hunting, spending time at the lake with his family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and going on vacation trips.
He was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church in Meeker.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Earl, Hobert, and Gilmer.
Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Bobbie Bowen, of the home; daughters and sons-in-law, Sonja and Ed O’Brien, of Meeker; Joyce and Eddie Arthur, of Meeker; son and daughter-in-law, Chris and Bev Bowen, of Meeker; great-granddaughter, Laney Bowen, of the home; four grandsons, Shane O’Brien and wife, Angel, of Meeker; Travis O’Brien, of Meeker; Clay Arthur and wife, Leah, of Meeker; Joshua Bowen, of Las Vegas, Nevada; granddaughters, Stephanie {Arthur} Johnson and her husband, Tony; Neisha O’Brien; Christa Bowen Hensley and husband, Rodney; Ciera Bowen; great-grandchildren, Storm, Bailee, Brianna, Brooklyn, and Aaron O’Brien, Dacee Dethrow, Kinley and Kaden Johnson, Gracin Arthur and Ayden Bowen.
Viewing and visitation will be at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, March 17. The Bowen family will receive friends at Parks Brothers Funeral Chapel in Meeker from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Friday, March 18, 2011, at the First Christian Church in Meeker with Rev. Glen Walters officiating.
Interment will follow at New Hope Cemetery in Meeker.
Services are under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Service in Prague.
