THELDA EARLENE BEASLER
1935 - 2014


Thelda Earlene Mendenhall Beasler of Chandler was born January 30, 1935. She went to meet the Lord May 9, 2014 at the age of 79.
Thelda was the youngest child of Earl and Laura Mendenhall of Chandler.
She attended Chandler Public School graduating in 1953.
On January 17, 1954 she married her high school sweetheart, Homer Beasler, in the Friends Church and they established their home southwest of Chandler for 61 yrs. With their union, four children were born; Laural, Homer Allen, Larry, and Cindy.
Thelda worked for Safeway for 2 years, Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. for 7 years, OSU Extension Center 1 year, Amateur Softball Association part time 3 years and as a homemaker.
She was a member of the Friends Church.
Thelda love working with the youth in Lincoln County being an honorary 4-H leader for over 45 years, a FFA youth supporter, and she enjoyed serving as a superintendent for the crop division of the Lincoln County Free fair. She enjoyed watching all of her children and grandchildren many school, sport, and showing livestock activities.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Homer Beasler; one son, Homer Allen Beasler II; parents, Earl and Laura Mendenhall; two brothers, Cecil Mendenhall and Ernest Mendenhall and one sister, Leotta Judd.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law Laural and William Martin; and Cindy and Mike Wakley of Chandler; one son and daughter-in-law Larry and Shannon Beasler of Wellston; one daughter-in-law Myrna Beasler of Chandler; nine grandchildren and their families; Jason and Stacy Wakley, Andy Wakley, Nathan and Shelly Martin, Lauralee and Joshua Prough, Jaron, Charis, Chasity and Christa Beasler, and Nikki Beasler; two great-grandchildren, Brianna and Jade Wakley; one sister Evolee Franklin of Texas; and a host of other family and friends.
A funeral service was held Wednesday, May 14, 2014 at Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston with interment following at Oak Park Cemetery in Chandler.
Arrangements were under the Lehman Funeral Home of Wellston.
