ROSA BEAN
1918 - 2012


Rosa Danker Bean was born September 11, 1918 in Wellston, Oklahoma to Pete and Alma Danker and passed away December 28, 2012 in Shawnee, Oklahoma at the age of 94.
She worked during the war at Douglas Aircraft and was an original, "Rosie the Riveter". She was later a restaurant owner/operator and a long time employee at Howard Johnson's on the Turner Turnpike.
Rosa was an active, long time member of the Chandler Church of the Nazarene. She served on the church board and was active in many church functions, including Vacation Bible School.
Her interests include her family, gardening, sewing, reading and much more. She had many pets including her beloved, Rosebud.
She was preceded in death by her son, Sammy Hurst, whom she is rejoicing with right now in heaven.
She is survived by her daughter, Norma Allen; six grandchildren, Tyrone Elias, Kevin Elias, Berri McFarland, Michelle Hurst, Chuck Hurst and Kim Hurst-Fine; seven great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous friends and loved ones.
Funeral services were held for Rosa Bean on Monday, December 31, 2012, at Lehman Funeral Home in Wellston.
Burial followed at Rossville Cemetery in Rossville under the direction of Lehman Funeral Home.
